Saw the movie 'Gran Torino' yesterday. Not one of his most successful movies, but Clint Eastwood has done a wonderful job here. Along with the story and the direction, he has acted out the role to perfection. To read the synopsis of the film, click here.

It is always easy to say that we should help out people and contribute to the society and yada yada yada. Most of us know that we want to do something, but we also know that we can't find the time to; we are all so busy in our lives with so many responsibilities and stuff going around. What if we forget about our desire to try to help the whole society and reform the entire system and just do it for one person. One person only. Anybody. It doesn't have to be a poor orphan kid or a very old helpless person. It could be your cousin who is going in the wrong direction. A neighbor's kid looking for direction in life. A person looking for a job. The only condition is that you need to help him with no selfish interest.

And that is the catch phase here - 'With no selfish interest'. She needs to be a person whom you would not bother about in the normal flow of life.

If you are into movies, and have not seen 'Pay it forward' - you should. It is a wonderful movie. One of the best I've e
ver seen.

It is a simple concept but something that can start a revolution if implemented. It works on the concept that one person helps three strangers totally unselfishly and expects nothing in return except a promise that they will in turn help three more pe
ople and so on and so forth. This tree can then grow and become a revolution. But, if this is too complicated and a little unrealistic for you, how about just one person.

God knows, after helping one person and seeing her happiness, you might get addicted to it. And it might inspire that person enough to help out ahead and it might indeed start a chain reaction.

So, I implore you to go find that one soul, or
at least if she comes to you, don't let her go disappointed. It might
be your calling - God's knock on your door, your redemption?

    Hi,
Truly said, we can make a chain by helping others or one person at a time with full of dedication and sprite.
One thing i would like to say as you said that we don't have a time to help others, don't you think, we have a time for ourself but not for others we always think about us, we made a plan for every weekend just for us not for others, sometime we call our friends on daily basis but we never think about those who really need some help from others, did you ever think on your birthday, you should go to orphanage and feed at least one orphan or did u ever donate a single cloth to them, i think NO, because you/we always think of ourself, did you/we ever feel chilli winters nights sans woolen cloths, did you ever donate a single woolen cloths to those people who are sleeping on the street covering themself with a single layer of sheets, I should say 'No', cause you/we go to the bed at 9 pm, watch movies till 1 am and then sleep, we don't want to knew what is happenings outside, even when dog bark while you are watching movies you just get irritate...
i think its enough, just think about once, the joy, luxury you are having if you could give a onenpercent of it to the one who really need it, how happy you will feel,
At last but not least, We can take out the time for others but we don't want to, so try to take out the time for the one who really need someone....

    Hi dear anonymous...

I totally agree with you that we always find time for ourselves and our family but i also believe that it is not good to be able to find time for others but not for your own family. As they say - charity begins at home. Also, if you can't find time for yourself and be a happy person, helping others would not be of any use. It is the right balance that you need to maintain.

What I was trying to emphasize here is that without making drastic changes to your life and yourself, you can still reach out to people and help them... it is just that we need to do it with the right mindset.

My family and I do keep doing the small stuff like the ones you have mentioned, But I of course want to do more substantial stuff.

And if by writing I can encourage even one or two more souls to reach out, I will add it to my achievements.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing your views. Totally with you on that.

    Uma, Thanks for reading dear.

Good One Nidhi, as usual, keep writing.
As u said, many of us have that zeal to help, but cannot find time to do it. For all of them, I sincerely suggest dont wait for time and context to help. Now a days, there are many charity societies well known if u surf on Net. Please try to donate for a needy child or a person.

    Luv
    Sirisha
